RuKsaK

This is not a piece of writing, or a slice of cake – it’s a one-off, non-story blog post, which uses the word blog. A word I’m not fully in love with.

Two of my favourite blogs have died in the last month. The wonderful Wendy McWench, AKA Miss Cellanist, has had hers ripped from under her by people with nothing better to do than be shit. Wyatt Junker has divorced the blog world for his family – a grand move that I admire.

It saddens me to kill their buttons on the left here, especially the Cunt button, which I used to enjoy clicking so much.

However, the places go to two new-to-me superb blogs:

To Norway On A Bicycle

Both chosen because they are bold enough to give a good kick into writing and are both good enough to read and read again. If you're not going there yet, start doing so. If you don't like them, then I'm not sure why you're here.

While I’m at this odd post, I’ll answer a question as to why this place is called RuKsaK. There are three reasons:

Reason 1:
I lived in Russia for five years, where my heart and most of my guts are still waiting for me to go back and dig them up. I then lived in Saudi Arabia for two years in which I lost weight, bladders and faith in my immortality. Now I’m in Korea where the architecture numbs the rags of my brain.

So:
Ru = Russia
Ksa = Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
K = Korea

When I move to the next country this blog’s name, should the damn thing still exist, will not change.

Reason 2:
The second meaning is a little more contrived. The backwards ‘R’ means ‘I am’ in Russian, so the title also means ‘I am a UK sack.’ I’m from some pit in the UK before all this travelling nonsense started seven-and-a-half years ago, you see.

Reason 3:
I'm not even getting into this one.
